Caliper (mm) 70MM WB
Discovered in the '60s by Glenn Jeffers, Autumn Blaze is a quick-growing and upright shade tree with ascending branches creating a dense oval-shaped canopy. This variety of Freeman's Maple is a hybrid of a red and silver maple, featuring the best qualities of each. Red maple offers showy fall foliage, noteworthy form and sturdy structure, while silver maple adds adaptability and speedy growth. Foliage transitions to shades of orange, red and scarlet in fall, creating an "autumn blaze". Young trees may develop leafhoppers or scales, but this tree's sparse flowers and fruit generally avoid substantial disease or pest issues.

Most trees are sold by caliper size (mm), which measures the external diameter of the trunk, 6” up from the bottom of each tree in Aug-Sept.

Multi-stemmed shrubs and conifers that branch near the base are sold by height (cm) measured around the same time.

Plants are lifted out of the field and put into wirebaskets once weather permits and temperatures cool (in spring and fall) so trees are dormant for best results with transportation and planting.
